Meet our People!

Jessica Phillips

Owner/Head Coach

(CF-L2, CF Kids, CF Gymnastics, Aerobic Capacity, NASM-Certified Personal Trainer)

I have always been active and competed in some type of group sport growing up. After starting a family and staying home with small children I really began to miss the social aspect of team sports. That when my husband dragged me to a CrossFit class…I was immediately drawn in by the community, there were so many friendly people, which I discovered was not unique to that gym but almost every CrossFit gym I have stepped into since. After starting my journey as an athlete, I found so much joy in it that I got my Level 1 Coaching certificate and haven’t looked back. That was in 2016, and I have since taken many more classes to further my knowledge to give my athletes the best coaching, the most current information, and the latest methods and training techniques.

Drew Phillips

General Manager / Coach

I am a lifelong athlete. I have played most major sports at the youth and high school levels. I played collegiate football at West Texas A&M, prior to getting an Engineering degree. But I never lost the love for health and wellness. After beginning a professional career and becoming bored with traditional gyms, I found CrossFit. This changed my life, I found the community that I missed from team sports and I developed an understanding of functionality in fitness. After over 5 years of being an athlete, I decided to start coaching as well, this gave me a platform to spread health and wellness to the greater community.

Ben Stephenson


(CF-L1, ACE Certified Personal Trainer)

My name is Ben Stephenson started my CrossFit journey in June of 2017 and started coaching February of 2018. I am currently studying Sports and Exercise Science to be a Physical Therapist at West Texas A&M University. Before moving to Texas, I studied Criminal Justice at WilmingtonCollege of Ohio, where I played football for 3 years. I was born and raised in Salem, Indiana, but in my senior year of high school, my family moved to Gallatin, Tennessee.

Dalton King


(CF-L1, ISSA-Certified Personal Trainer)

My passion for fitness started while I was in the United States Army. After 6 years leading soldiers I decided to continue doing what I am passionate about and become a personal trainer. Then one day I tried CrossFit for the first time at OpenRange CrossFit and loved it! I have been doing CrossFit for 1 year now and have been coaching for about 6 months! I love seeing people do things they never thought they could do, sometimes they just need a little encouragement!

Jarvis Smith


(CF-L1, ISSA-Certified Personal Trainer)

Hello, my name is Jarvis Smith and I am a coach here at Open Range CrossFit. I have a passion for motivating others to achieve their goals as well as holding myself accountable to achieve my own. CrossFit has become a huge part of my life, I currently train for competitions such as Wodapalooza, Granite Games, and local comps. Being active has always been a part of my life, being an ex-baseball player I continue to have that drive to compete and working in group settings. Also, a fun fact about me is that I always have gummy bears with me during training.

Nick Turner



Hello, My CrossFit journey began in the Spring of 2018 when my mom talked me into signing up for a 6-week challenge and I ended up falling in love with the sport (Thanks Mom!). I now train competitively and have participated in local comps with the intent of progressing to larger scale competitions. My previous sporting endeavors include wrestling, football, and powerlifting. I'm currently a nursing student at Amarillo College and want to eventually work as a flight nurse. I wanted to share my passion for the sport, so I started coaching in the spring of 2019. Fun fact- My favorite lift is the Snatch!

Jon Solis


My name is Jon Solis, I started CrossFit on a 6-week challenge back in 2018, and it changed my life!! All of my life I have been an athlete, playing football for over 15 years and wrestling for 12. Sports have always been my life. I kind of lost my way for a while and then found CrossFit! It totally changed my physical and mental well-being and I couldn’t be happier. I love coaching others in the way of fitness and strive to make others a success story like I was.
